And between these sits a shared zone, where humans and AI work together. The system surfaces possibilities, highlights risks, and expands the option set. The leader provides context, intuition, and responsibility for what happens next.
Most leadership strain around AI does not come from the technology itself. It comes from uncertainty about which zone a decision belongs in.
When that uncertainty is left unresolved, leaders feel squeezed. They second-guess themselves. Teams become unclear about accountability. Decisions slow down, even as tools promise speed.
