In a recent interview with Atlas Cook from Triple M, we delved into the fascinating world of home robots. Apple has been generating quite a buzz with rumours about developing a personal home robot.

As I mentioned to Atlas, this aligns with the broader trend of integrating advanced robotics into our homes, a vision that’s been around since the days of “The Jetsons.” We dreamt of a robot that looked, acted, and did chores like a human—cooking, cleaning, folding laundry. This idea, which first emerged over 100 years ago, is now closer to becoming reality.

From handling mundane chores like grocery shopping and cleaning to providing companionship and care, home robots are set to transform how we live.

The global household robots market, valued at USD 14.7 billion in 2024, is projected to skyrocket to USD 96 billion by 2034.

This growth is driven by advancements in AI, machine learning, and the rising demand for smart home solutions.

The home robotics market is on an impressive growth trajectory. As we look ahead, several key factors will drive this expansion:

  1. Robots are Clumsy: Current robots often struggle with precision tasks, making them less reliable for delicate chores. I noted, “They’re clumsy. I mean, they’re pieces of iron, steel, whatever. They’re spatially challenged. They bump into things all the time.”
